My Story

 I am a widower having had great marriage of 35 years to Ruth until her death in 2005.  It was Ruth who encouraged me to apply to become a Celebrant following which I was successfully registered in 2000.  Since then I have carried out ceremonies in Auckland, Coromandel, Tauranga, the wider Bay of Plenty as well as several in the southern North Island and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the role.  My past working career as a social worker and later, a social services and health services  manager, was focussed around the care and support of people.  It is a privilege and a great pleasure for me to be  involved with people as the Celebrant for their special occasions.

I also have radio presenting and public speaking experience, stretching back over several years, which has positively contributed to my public presentation.

Each ceremony is created and presented in the style and manner that you want.  That said, and once engaged as your Celebrant, you receive full support from me right through to and including your special day.  For example,  in order to  to help get you thinking about what  ceremony, I provide several examples. I can also create ceremonies "from scratch" at no extra cost where you want something extra-special and personal.  Likewise, I can conduct a variety of ceremonial scenarios, including religious, spiritual. cultural elements if specifically requested.
